Drifting

Wednesday, March 24th, 2004

I have been thinking about the theory of the stages of faith recently. Lidia has been re-reading “The Churchless Faith” over the last few days and reading out the passages that strike her.

We are torn between strategies in our own search for a place to stand in church. On the one hand we want to challenge the dependency relationship nature of church and insist on more collaborative approach to decision making (and in our church this means writing letters as there is no public forum for these issues)

On the other hand, these churches were built for conformists to meet in and they would be very threatened by any action on our part. We do not wish to destroy their home in the process of our stab at building one for ourselves.

And while we think about this, we drift.
